Plastic Cards - Contact less SMART CARDS

A plastic card which communicates using its embedded chip and antenna with the card reader through an induction technology similar to that of an RFID or NFC is termed as a Contactless Plastic Card.

These Plastic cards require close proximity to an antenna to complete transactions. They are widely deployed where transactions must be processed quickly or on a hands-free mode.

Mass transit systems deploy these technologies in large numbers, several advantages relating to hands free operations are enabling use of such technologies in Modern banking systems.

Contactless smart cards can be used without even removing the CR80 plastic cards from a wallet.
